About This Service
Choose Fuel Around Use and Infrastructure
Choose wood, gas or electric equipment around its intended use and the services available at home. Changing fuel can require new equipment and connections. The estimate should identify the selected appliance and relevant gas, electrical or venting work rather than treat conversion as a decorative change.
Understand the Finished Installation
At handover, identify the installed product, completed scope and anything outstanding. Obtain the relevant operating and care information before normal use. Keep those documents and the service contact with the property records; a photograph of the finished facing does not describe the complete installation.
Separate a Freestanding Product From a Built-In
A freestanding appliance and a fireplace enclosed by finished construction can require different project scopes. Product selection should establish the intended mounting and surrounding arrangement. Do not compare their visible dimensions as though they involve the same preparation, access or finishing.
Confirm the Intended Fuel Supply
A fuel-burning product needs an appropriate supply and configuration. Identify the selected fuel before treating a particular model as suitable. The installation estimate should make related connection work visible and distinguish it from the appliance price rather than assume an existing supply answers every question.
Recheck Requirements When the Model Changes
A substituted fireplace can change the supporting work, connections or finish opening. If availability leads to another model, review the installation scope again before ordering. Similar appearance or nominal size does not establish identical requirements.
