About This Service
Consider Supporting Material
A new metal component needs an appropriate attachment area. If the material supporting the old part has deteriorated, that concern belongs in the repair discussion. We explain whether supporting work is separate from the replacement and why it affects the sequence.
Assess Before Selecting a Coating
A coating is not a universal repair for every chimney condition. The existing material, intended purpose and underlying damage need consideration first. We explain whether a proposed treatment is part of the repair or a separate maintenance choice after defects are addressed.
Focus on Function Before Decoration
A chimney can look cleaner or newer while a separate operating concern remains. Tell us if the fireplace's behavior changed as well as its appearance. We discuss that issue separately so a material or finish repair is not presented as an answer to every symptom.
Do Not Use a Fire as a Test
A damaged or malfunctioning fireplace should not be relit merely to see whether the problem returns. Explain the prior behavior to Twin and arrange assessment. If there is an active fire or other immediate danger, contact emergency services from a safe place first.
