About This Service
Explain the Remaining Question
Sometimes the assessment identifies a concern without establishing every concealed condition. We explain what is known and what needs further access or investigation. That uncertainty should remain visible in the repair discussion rather than disappear behind a general statement that everything has been checked.
Clarify Work by Other Trades
Some projects involve responsibilities outside the chimney repair itself. The proposal should identify them so the owner can coordinate the complete job. We discuss the boundary rather than imply that roofing, structural work or interior finishes are included without being named.
Avoid Repeating a Treatment Without Review
If an earlier application did not settle the concern, another layer should not be the automatic next step. Tell us what was attempted and whether the symptom changed. The current assessment guides the repair, including whether a different component needs attention.
Consider the Adjacent Connection
A repaired section meets material that remains in place. The proposal should explain that connection and any preparation it requires. We discuss surrounding condition so the job does not treat the new piece in isolation from the assembly it is meant to serve.
