About This Service
Inspection and cleaning serve different purposes
Cleaning removes deposits within the accepted service scope; inspection assesses condition within the agreed access. One may lead to a recommendation for the other. The explanation should distinguish what was assessed from what was cleaned so the service record stays useful afterward.
Make inaccessible areas explicit
Some areas cannot be assessed through ordinary available access. That limitation should remain visible in the explanation of findings. Twin discusses whether another step is needed to resolve the question, rather than treating an unseen component as confirmed sound or confirmed damaged.
Keep preparation at floor level
Provide access around the fireplace and share documents you already have. Homeowners do not need to climb a roof, dismantle a cap or remove an appliance to prepare a request. Access and any removal needed for assessment should be planned as part of the visit.
Revisit Requirements When the Model Changes
A replacement fireplace chosen after an earlier assessment may have different installation requirements. Tell Twin about the change before assuming the previous scope still applies. The existing opening, connection and surrounding work need to be considered for the product now proposed, not only the one originally discussed.
