About This Service
Separate Cleaning From Repair
Removing deposits and repairing damaged material have different purposes. If both are recommended, we explain the scope and sequence of each. A completed cleaning does not mean broken components were repaired, and an exterior repair does not automatically clean the venting passage.
Connect the Repair to the Symptom
Ask which finding the proposed repair addresses. The explanation should connect the observed component to the work, not simply name a product. We identify the immediate task and distinguish another independent concern if the assessment suggests more than one issue is present.
Treat Records as Evidence, Not Assumption
A past invoice can show what was authorized, while current conditions show what now needs attention. Bring both into the discussion. We do not infer that an entire assembly was renewed from a broad description of chimney work on an old receipt.
Consider the Adjacent Connection
A repaired section meets material that remains in place. The proposal should explain that connection and any preparation it requires. We discuss surrounding condition so the job does not treat the new piece in isolation from the assembly it is meant to serve.
