About This Service
Consider Supporting Material
A new metal component needs an appropriate attachment area. If the material supporting the old part has deteriorated, that concern belongs in the repair discussion. We explain whether supporting work is separate from the replacement and why it affects the sequence.
A Failed Finish Is Not the Whole Diagnosis
Flaking or stained surfaces can prompt the service request, but the assessment must consider what is behind or adjoining them. We discuss the existing material and any underlying concern before selecting preparation or a new finish for the repair.
Avoid Repeating a Treatment Without Review
If an earlier application did not settle the concern, another layer should not be the automatic next step. Tell us what was attempted and whether the symptom changed. The current assessment guides the repair, including whether a different component needs attention.
Consider the Chimney Top Separately
The outlet cap, crown and a cover over a framed chase perform different roles. A repair to one does not establish the condition of all three. We identify the actual components present and explain which are included in the proposed work.
