About This Service
Plan the Mantel and Surround Together
Bring mantel, cabinet and facing plans into the product review. Their dimensions and materials must work with the selected fireplace instructions; an inspiration image supplies appearance, not an installation specification. Identify which finishing tasks Twin includes and which require a separate contractor.
Distinguish Room Ambience From Heating Goals
Explain whether the fireplace is primarily a visual feature, occasional supplemental warmth or part of a broader heating plan. That goal helps compare product options, but no general output promise should replace the chosen model’s specifications and the requirements of the home.
Identify a Direct-Vent Project Correctly
A direct-vent gas product uses a specified venting arrangement matched to the appliance. Its route and components belong in the installation scope. Do not treat a nearby opening or an existing pipe as proof that the selected model can use that connection.
Assess an Opening After an Old Unit Is Removed
Removal may reveal construction that was not visible at the first visit. The proposal should explain how new findings affect the next step and how changes are approved. An allowance for removal should not serve as open-ended authorization for every concealed condition.
Decide Which Existing Connections Can Remain
A reusable-looking connection still needs to suit the selected product and its condition. Ask the estimate to list retained components separately from new ones. This makes a replacement proposal clearer than a general statement that the old installation will be reused.
