About This Service
Distinguish Masonry From Factory-Built Systems
A site-built masonry fireplace and a listed factory-built assembly use different construction approaches. Confirm which is being supplied. Their components must not be mixed just because both burn wood; the chosen system determines the construction scope, compatible chimney parts and instructions.
Include Removal and Finish Restoration
An installation-only estimate may leave an unfinished room. Check who removes the old unit, disposes of it and restores drywall, tile, stone and the mantel. Removal can expose concealed conditions, so the plan should also explain how changed work is priced and authorized.
Review the Depth Behind the Face
A wall opening may appear wide enough while lacking the depth or surrounding arrangement the product requires. The complete installation envelope should be checked from the actual instructions. A shallow decorative face does not establish what is needed behind the finished wall.
Keep Built-In Cabinet Plans Available
Adjacent cabinets can affect the usable layout and access around a fireplace. Share their proposed materials and dimensions during planning. The selected appliance’s requirements should be considered before furniture or joinery is ordered, rather than treated as a detail to resolve after fitting.
Confirm the Product Before Enclosure
The delivered model and required components should correspond to the agreed project. If they differ, resolve the scope before the unit is enclosed by finishes. A last-minute substitution can create work that the original opening or connection plan did not cover.
